Why we refuse to use contracts
Contracts exist to protect bad work. If a web designer is confident in what they ship, they don't need to lock you in for a year to stop you leaving. We built our pricing around that belief: £49/month, billed monthly, cancel from your dashboard with two clicks.
We've spent the last three years watching tradespeople pay £80–£200 a month for sites they hate, because their original designer disappeared and the contract still has nine months to run. We're not interested in being that company.
What 'no contract' actually means at Built Local
It means there is no minimum term. You can cancel after one month, three months, or three years — and your next invoice simply doesn't go out. We don't charge an exit fee. We don't hold your domain hostage.
It also means our incentive is to keep you happy month after month. Every UK-based support ticket, every monthly content update, every page we tune — it's because if we stop earning your £49, you walk. That's how it should be.
What you keep if you cancel
Your domain is yours. We register it in your name (or transfer it back to you) on request. Your content, photos and copy are yours — we'll email you a zipped export. Your Google Business Profile stays under your Google account; we just unlink ourselves as a manager.
The only thing that stops is the hosting, SSL and the live website. If you want to take the design files to another developer, we provide a static export of the public pages on request.

- Correct. £49/month with no minimum. The £99 setup fee is one-time, also with no lock-in attached.
- What happens to my domain if I cancel?
- We transfer it to your registrar of choice at no cost. You keep ownership throughout — it's registered in your name from day one.
- Will you delete my site the day I cancel?
- Your billing period runs to the end of the month. The site stays live until then so you can redirect traffic. After that we take it offline and hand over any assets you ask for.
- Can I rejoin later if I cancel?
- Yes. We'll bring your old site back up within 48 hours and skip the £99 setup if it's within 6 months.
